THE FOUNDING STORYIt all started with a casual game of golf
In early 2022, founder Natalie West found herself on a work trip to San Francisco. Leaving the office to head out for a round of golf at the prestigious Harding Park Golf Club, she was caught off guard by the Bay Area's notoriously fickle weather. Having packed only warm weather golf attire, she was woefully unprepared for the chilly gusts sweeping across the course. Faced with the dilemma of golfing in the cold, West made a bold decision. She cobbled together an unusual ensemble from her suitcase: cream and white checkered trousers, a matching belt, a mock turtleneck, and swapped her typical golf cap for a dapper newsboy hat. While a stark departure from conventional golf attire, it provided warmth and something completely unexpected - style she’d never experienced on the fairway.
Despite drawing curious glances and raised eyebrows, West felt elegant and self-assured. The attention drawn by her unconventional outfit seemed less like judgment and more like admiration for her bold and stylish look. With each swing, thoughts bubbled up:
“Women are not just one thing, so why is our clothing single-purposed?”
As West contemplated her newfound freedom to don elegant, timeless attire regardless of the occasion, she realized women's fashion, it seemed, was expected to maintain separate wardrobes for work and play. This revelation ignited West's resolve to transform women's wear, seamlessly blending all-day comfort, performance, luxury, and craftsmanship into every garment.
And so began an evolution to a new way of life.

What’s in a Name
Ellie Arbee is more than a name. It’s a reflection of my journey: one shaped by courage, intention, and a deep belief in living with meaning.
It’s the phonetic spelling of L.E. and R.B, which stand for Left Eye and Right Brain. These two ideas are deeply personal to me, and are the core spirit of this brand.
Left Eye, represents two things the heart of this brand:
First, it’s about seeing things differently. It reminds us to challenge assumptions, shift perspective, and look beyond the obvious - to notice beauty, opportunity, and meaning in unexpected places. That kind of lens opens doors to creativity and connection.
Second, it’s a symbol of self-acceptance. For years, I disliked the way my eye closed in photos. But eventually, I realized it only happened when I was truly joyful - when I smiled so big, I couldn’t contain it. Now, it’s a reminder to embrace what makes us unique - because our quirks often point to our most joyful and authentic selves.
LEFT EYE
Right Brain is often linked to creativity, but for me, it’s about curiosity - the kind that leads to wonder, to learning, to transformation. It’s not about having the right answers, it’s about asking better questions. It’s about staying open, daring to explore, and trusting the process even when it’s messy. I believe that’s where true creativity begins - in the willingness to wander, to play, to imagine, and build something new.
To live from the right brain is to live with intention. To create not just for the beauty, but with purpose. To show up, fully engaged, and bring your best self to the world.
